Mini Biography
A top bear model turned reality-photobook star, The Bear is from originally from the eastern Iowa. As a teenager, the Bear had dreams of becoming a TV game show host. To work his way through college, he worked full-time at a Cinnabon. In June of 1999, his mom was hired as a co-worker, which prompted an immediate resignation by The Bear. With a dwingling money supply, and no job, The Bear was forced to drop-out of school early and immediately pursue his dreams, thus leading him to move to Los Angeles, California.
His first foray into entertainment was trying out for "The Bachelor - Season 1". He made it to the final cut of try-outs, but dismissed himself after realizing that he would have to live for 6 months with "a bunch of douche bags".
To hone his game show skills, The Bear took up a job as a "caller" at VFW Bingo Hall.
It was here that he caught a break, being discovered by retired model scout Nancy Stabone, who happened to be in the crowd that evening. She set him up with a contact overseas, and soon after he was working the runways in Paris.
The Bear retired from runway modeling after a 5 year stint, in hopes of leading a more "settled down" life style.
He now lives in the midwest with his favorite kitten "Orange & White", where he works strictly in print, and can frequently be seen fashion magazines such as GQ and Esquire.
In 2009 The Bear was approached by celebrity-photographer Wanda Varony to produce a three-part "Reality Photo Book" series. The books which include "Meet The Bear", "The Bear goes on a Date", and "The Bear Gets Laid Off", document the raw, true-life reality of a celebrity bear model.
